Intentional Living Guide:
The power of Intentional living
While intentional living is powerful, it’s not always easy and requires you to take the time to invest in yourself by building a life that aligns with your deepest principles. Doing so can provide:
• The highest level of self-love and empowerment….and baby, you’re worth it!
• Confidence of ownership in your life, as you have the power of choice.
• Clarity of your choices that align with your path of truth
• Excitement for the future and optimism
• More joy and pleasure
It’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day grind and losing focus on what you have to offer to this world and yourself - so give yourself the gift to recenter and ensure your intentions are known, clear and used to guide you to the best and most authentic version of you.
What are you waiting for, let’s do this:
Make the time for YOU.
Just as you make time to eat, sleep, work, love, dance, date, and take care of others, commit to a time to sit down in quite place, with a pen and paper to create, revisit or revise your intentions.
YOU have the power to make it happen, so take back the control or boost your joy and inner peace.
• Don’t wait till you find yourself heartbroken, unhappy, lost or hurt, be pro-active when it comes to YOU, as its all about how you’re going to react to situations and people, so you might as well be prepared.
• If you’re currently in a good place (congrats), this is still a great exercise to ensure your prior intentions are still aligned, add new ones, re-prioritize your current ones, or simply create them as you’ve not done this prior – trust the process as this will provide clarity.
• Figuring out to live more intentionally won’t happen all at once, so don’t get overwhelmed, and know you are giving yourself the ability to improve your life whenever you decide, in the pace you set and works for you.
• Start by making small steps, and guess what, they all add up and move into an improved YOU
• Don’t skip or rush any of these steps, as they need to be done in order. Maybe start with just 10 minutes a day with writing down your thoughts or do it in a weekend – the key is to find a way that works for you. If you’re reading this, heck try it now - what do you have to loose!
Identify your core values, beliefs and desires.
Dig deep to discover what motivates and excites you and do this exercise with kindness and compassion for yourself. This is a major brain dump, so put any and all thoughts on this topic on paper, get it all out and don’t hold back on the amount values and desires.
When it comes to a partner or job, you need to take the time to determine what is the best fit for you. The time is now for you to spend some time on YOU! And if during this process you’re finding you’re not aligned, please don’t judge, or speak harshly to yourself as your past represent lessons that got you here, and you have the power of choice:
• What do I value?
• What do I care about
• What doesn’t serve me?
Why are these values and beliefs important to you?
Write in as much detail as possible to determine why these values are important to you.
Example: I value good health – because it allows me to dance which is my way of self-expression and makes my soul happy and helps my body staying strong whilst aging.
Rank your values and beliefs.
Select your top 3 priorities from everything you wrote down during your brain dump and put them in order of importance to YOU.
No need to get overwhelmed, that’s why you start with your top rated 3 intentions, and you can come back to the others at a later time…the key is to start with those things that are most important to you.
Break it down baby
Select your top 3 priorities from everything you wrote down during your brain dump and put them in order of importance to YOU.
Now that you have taken the time to self-reflect and determine what your most important values and desires are, lets determine what needs to be done to make them reality.
Example Break down: I prioritized my health – because then I can dance which is one of my very important passions and self-expression. Therefor all the following things need to happen:
• Follow up with my Dr to schedule that surgery that I have been putting off
• Recovery time from surgery
• Start physical therapy
Practice makes perfect
Congratulations, you have successfully determined, created, or re-evaluated your values and desires aka your inner truth! Seriously be proud of the work you have just put into yourself as baby buckle up – this is going to pay off for YOU!
